Manual for Cultural Heritage Disaster Risk Mitigation

Cultural properties can be damaged in many different ways depending on the type and scale of the natural disaster.
 
Under the supervision of outside specialists, we have been making a video of the first aid manual for disaster-affected cultural properties since 2017, called the “Manual for Cultural Heritage Disaster Risk Mitigation”.

– Examples for Treating Damaged Natural History Specimens and Disaster Reduction Measures –

This video shows examples of how damaged specimens are treated by experts.
We will also introduce disaster reduction measures to minimize damage to the specimens.

-Examples of Cleaning Procedures for Cultural Materials-

This video shows an example of emergency measures and temporary storage methods for cultural materials that have become dirty due to a natural disaster. This time we will focus on the cleaning and temporary storage of wooden objects, assuming a scenario of damage from an earthquake and flood.
